Convert iPhone Photos to JPG

iPhone photos are saved as HEIC by default; to get a JPG, drop them into PixQuiet, which converts them on your device without uploading, or set Camera to Most Compatible so new photos are taken as JPG.

Drop HEIC, HEIF, or .livp files here or click to choose — multiple files OK

Convert photos you already have

  1. Open this page in Safari on your iPhone, or on any computer.
  2. Tap the drop zone and choose photos from your library or Files.
  3. Keep JPG selected and set the quality. 92% suits most photos.
  4. Save each JPG, or download them all as a ZIP.

Once the page has loaded, it works offline. Turn on Airplane Mode and it still converts.

Take new photos as JPG

Your iPhone can skip HEIC altogether:

  1. Open Settings > Camera > Formats.
  2. Choose Most Compatible.

New photos are saved as JPEG and new videos as H.264. Photos you already took stay HEIC. HEIC files take less space, so you may want to switch back to High Efficiency later.

When your iPhone converts for you

These are handy when they apply. They don't help if you already have HEIC files on a computer, in an email, or in cloud storage. That's what the converter above is for.

Why nothing is uploaded

The conversion runs in a Web Worker inside your browser. Your photos stay on your iPhone or computer, and no account is needed.

FAQ

Why does my iPhone save photos as HEIC?

HEIC keeps similar quality to JPEG in less storage. Apple has used it as the default camera format on supported iPhones since iOS 11.

How do I make my iPhone take JPG photos?

Go to Settings > Camera > Formats and choose Most Compatible. Only new photos change; existing ones stay HEIC.

Can I convert iPhone photos to JPG without an app?

Yes. Open this page in Safari, choose your photos, and save the JPG files. Nothing to install.

Can I convert HEIC to JPG offline?

Yes. Load the page once, then you can go offline. The conversion runs on your device, so it needs no connection.

Will the JPG keep the date and location?

That's up to you. Choose Strip to remove the metadata, or Keep to copy common tags into the JPG when possible.
