HEIC Viewer: Open HEIC Files in Your Browser
To open a HEIC file without installing anything, drop it here: PixQuiet shows the photo right in your browser, on any computer, and the file never leaves your device.
How to open a HEIC file
- Drop one or more .heic or .heif files into the zone, or click to choose them.
- The photo opens full size. Zoom in, or move between photos with the arrows.
- Want to keep a copy that opens everywhere? Tap Save as JPG.
Why HEIC files won't open
HEIC is the format iPhones use for photos by default. Apple devices open it natively. Many others don't: Windows needs extra extensions from the Microsoft Store, and many Android apps, older editors, and Chromebooks can't show it at all. Your browser can, once this page gives it a decoder.
On Windows
Windows can open HEIC in the Photos app after you install Microsoft's HEIF and HEVC extensions. If you'd rather not install anything, view it here. For the full steps and the JPG route, see HEIC to JPG on Windows.
Why nothing is uploaded
The photo is decoded in your browser, in a background worker. It isn't sent to a server, and once the page has loaded the viewer works offline.
FAQ
How do I open a HEIC file without an app?
Drop it into this page. Any current browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari — shows it here with nothing to install.
How do I open HEIC files on Windows 10 or 11?
Either install the HEIF and HEVC extensions from the Microsoft Store and use Photos, or open the file here. Details: HEIC to JPG on Windows.
Can I view HEIC on Android or a Chromebook?
Yes. Open this page in Chrome and choose the file.
Can I view several HEIC photos at once?
Yes. Drop them together and step through them with the arrows.
Does viewing change my file?
No. The viewer only reads it. Saving as JPG creates a new file and leaves the original as it is.
Can I see where and when the photo was taken?
Use the EXIF Viewer for the date, camera, and location.
